About Us

Connellan Industries are specialist commercial builders who have completed some of Australia’s most complex and exciting internal fitouts.

Our projects and client lists are based on our proven record of tight time lines, restrictive budgets and often difficult and complex access and finishing profiles.

Connellan Industries was incorporated in 1980. Over the decades, our team of craftsmen have established a reputation for quality and speed that is second to none. We’ve done so through a diverse range of projects, with an emphasis on commercial refurbishment and restoration. Our history covers almost everything. We’ve completed shop fitouts across the nation, delivered executive board rooms and constructed sensitive commercial laboratories. We’ve refurbished warehouses, resorts, schools and universities. Our reputation has also led us to less conventional work: ship cabins, hospitals, airports and sound studios. When a more chic touch is required, we’ve been proud to hand over restaurants, bars, hotels and golf clubs.

Our team of carpenters and labourers are directly employed by the company, and our sub-contractor support teams are long-time loyal friends. This smaller, dynamic style allows us to pass on the savings to our clients.

We are registered members of the Master Builders’ Association and the Australian Shop and Office Fitters’ Association. We’re also registered as a Commercial Builder Unlimited (#4162) and accredited by the government’s Department of Infrastructure.

Our reputation for completing projects on time and budget is second to none and our work in some of the leading boardrooms of Australia is testament to the quality of which we are justifiably proud.

John Connellan
John Connellan – Managing Director and Owner

John started Connellan Industries in 1980. With over 30 years experience within construction, planning and financial control, his “hands on” approach creates an important overview of projects from initial contact to completion.

Wayne Carey – General Manager

Wayne has been working for twenty-six years with Connellan Industries and has been the General Manager for the last ten years. Commencing with the company in 1990 as a site operative, it took little time for Wayne’s innate enthusiasm and ability to propel him higher. While his early grounding gave him a good insight into the practical side of our operations, he quickly progressed into estimating and administration, becoming General Manager in 2006. Wayne has a detailed understanding of construction methodology and practices on site, as well as a solid grounding in contract administration. His friendly personality, sporting achievements and sound general knowledge serve him well in relationships with clients from many and varied sources.

Bob Anderson – Senior Estimator

Almost half of his 50-plus years in the industry as a member of the Connellan team sees Bob’s energy and enthusiasm undiminished and allows him to pass on the benefit of a wide range of experience. Bob has worked with Connellan Industries for over twenty-eight years. His background ranges from standard and custom designed domestic work, through industrial and institutional to low and medium rise commercial developments, involving all phases from the initial structural work, through services, fittings and finishes to completion, with forays into such specialist areas as industrial painting and asbestos removal. His specialty in the team is in planning and controlling project costs and contract administration.

Chris Horsley – Contract Administrator & Estimator

Chris started with Connellan Industries in 2008 and has now joined our team as a graduate following his successful completion of a Bachelor of Planning & Design / Bachelor of Property & Construction in 2010. Once finishing his VCE in Ballarat, Christopher came to Melbourne to expand his knowledge of the construction industry by participating in further studies at the University of Melbourne whilst gaining a practical understanding at Connellan Industries. 5 years on, Chris has been a valuable full time member of the team in an estimating and administrating capacity, successfully completing numerous projects across Melbourne. Chris is enthusiastic, and diligent and always looks forward to undertaking a variety of projects as part of the Connellan Industries Team.

Declan Ganz – Contract Administrator & Estimator

Declan joined the Connellan Industries team at the beginning of 2015 in a part time capacity whilst completing his Bachelor of Environments (Construction) at The University of Melbourne. Since graduating mid-way through 2015 and beginning full time employment with Connellan Industries, Declan has been relishing the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge he gained at University into a real world practical sense with Connellan Industries, and is keen to continue contributing to the success of numerous projects to come.
